CAPTAIN BUCKLES
Hurry Up (2025)
Preceded by several singles, "Hurry Up" is the debut album by the band Captain Buckles. The New Orleans quintet was able to produce its first recording thanks to the intervention of the Threadhead Cultural Foundation, a non-profit foundation active in supporting initiatives undertaken by artists residing in Louisiana.
"Hurry Up" contains four vocal tracks and three instrumentals. In the latter tracks, the musicians of Captain Buckles find the ideal setting to give free rein to their distinctive personalities, creating soundscapes reminiscent of the most passionate rhythm&blues and the most torrential funk.
Of the vocal tracks, the concluding "Raindrops On Mardi Gras" deserves special mention: over six minutes in which keyboards and guitars can indulge themselves thanks to an irresistible rhythmic backdrop.
