Get Sunk (2025)
Fresh from the critical and commercial success of his previous solo album "Serpentine Prison", released in October 2020, The National singer Matt Berninger returns with his baritone voice and intimate songwriting on "Get Sunk", released in late May 2025.
Most of the ten tracks on "Get Sunk" were written by Berninger together with Sean O'Brien, who also produced the album (and plays various instruments on all the songs) and collaborated on "Serpentine Prison".
Two guests are mentioned in the liner notes: American singer, songwriter, and guitarist Meg Duffy (aka Hand Habits) on the delicate "Breaking Into Acting", and singer-songwriter and multi-instrumentalist Julia Laws with her musical project Ronboy on the haunting "Silver Jeep", complete with inspired trumpet playing by Kyle Resnick.
