He began his artistic career playing percussion and drums before switching (at the age of 11) to the piano. In addition to his work with his own band Stay Human, he has participated in dozens and dozens of recordings by fellow musicians (including Willie Nelson, Lenny Kravitz, Stevie Wonder, and Prince), and recording soundtracks for successful films (such as the 2020 animated feature "Soul" with Trent Reznor and Atticus Ross), musician Jonathan Michael "Jon" Batiste can boast a substantial and distinguished solo career.
His most recent album is "Big Money", nine tracks that once again highlight the skill and compositional class of the musician from Metairie, Louisiana, offering a captivating blend of jazz, soul, blues, pop, gospel, and R&B.
