Produced by the now inseparable Kevin Shirley, "Breakthrough" is Joe Bonamassa's latest solo album. Between guest appearances on numerous recordings by fellow musicians, a large number of concerts across the United States, and membership in various bands (including Black Country Communion, Sleep Eazys, Rock Candy Funk Party), and productions (often in collaboration with Josh Smith) of other artists' albums (such as Larry McCray's "Blues Without You" and Marc Broussard's "S.O.S. 4 Blues For Your Soul"), the pyrotechnic guitarist born on May 8, 1977, in New Hartford (Oneida County, New York) finds the time and inspiration to record explosive albums. Such is the case with "Breakthrough", a collection of ten tracks (many of which were composed by the artist himself together with the aforementioned Shirley and Tom Hambridge) of overwhelming rock fueled by Bonamassa's guitar riffs, making this new album by the American guitarist one of the most engaging blues-infused rock records of 2025.
