Room On The Porch (2025)
The pair of distinguished musicians Henry St. Claire Fredericks Jr. (born in New York City on May 17, 1942) and Kevin Roosvelt Moore (born in Los Angeles on October 3, 1951), with their stage names Taj Mahal and Keb' Mo', consolidated the artistic partnership they developed in 2017 with "TajMo" (winner of that year's Grammy Award for Best Contemporary Blues Album) with the excellent "Room On The Porch", released in late May 2025.
Of the ten tracks on the album, only three are not written by the "Room On The Porch" duo: "Nobody Knows You When You're Down And Out" (the hit written in 1923 by Jimmy Cox), "Junkyard Dog" (written by Gabriel Barry Dixon, Maia Sari Sharp and Park Chisolm) and the closing "Rough Time Blues" (written by 29-year-old guitarist Jontavious Willis).
Except for "Blues'll Give You Back Your Soul" (by Taj Mahal alone), the remaining tracks are composed by both protagonists of a highly enjoyable album capable of eliciting thunderous applause from lovers of quality music.
