Of the ten songs on "Heavy Soul", seven bear Taylor's signature (either solo or shared with other musicians), while the remaining three are composed by Joan Armatrading ("All The Way From America"), Kenneth Gamble & Leon Huff ("Drowning In A Sea Of Love"), and Van Morrison (an excellent rendition of "Someone Like You").
